3.1 Introduction - Learning Objectives
Exercise 3.1
- How will you describe the position of a table lamp on your study table to another person?
- Draw a city street plan and find number of cross-streets referred to as (4,3) and (3,4).
3.2 Cartesian System
Example 1:
Find the coordinates of the points B, M, L, and S from a coordinate plane diagram.
Example 2:
Write the coordinates of points marked on the axes A, B, C, D, E and the origin.
Exercise 3.2
- Name the horizontal and vertical lines, the parts of the plane they form, and the point of intersection.
- Using a figure, write coordinates of B, C, identify points with given coordinates, find abscissas/ordinates.
